What We Do:

We are in our 52nd year of providing Visual Art studio classes in Painting, Drawing, Clay, Screen Printing, and B&W Film Photography, FREE to individuals. Locust Street Art’s reputation for realistically accessible quality Art instruction continues to draw an increasing diversity of students in age, developmental ability, socioeconomic background, and cultural identity. While most attend from the immediate inner-city and central-city areas, students also attend from the broader WNY region.
Why We're Great:
We provide ongoing Visual Art studio classes, free to individuals. Many students attend for periods of years. We have created several public art projects to beautify the city. We work with at-risk children and teens. Former students have progressed to careers in Art-related fields, or working with children in teaching or social service fields. Others function as artists in their communities, enriching the fabric of life throughout Western New York.
What We Need:
Power lawnmower, Good quality wooden studio easels.
“This building strengthens our community – it’s like a muscle.” -Tysheka Long (former student, then staff)
